Create an interactive Flash calendar using custom image
Many companies provide a web-based calendar services for users to
view and add events from one date to another without reloading the
page. However, such kind of calendar can't be integrated into a website
easily, as well as the image associated with an event can't be shown.
It is time for us to find other alternative methods to create a user-friendly,
simple yet attractive interactive flash calendar. This tutorial will
take you through the steps of creating a flash calendar using iMapBuilder-
a flash software originally designed to build flash maps, now you
can import your custom own calendar image and add events with image/information
displayed in an infobox.
Create an interactive Flash calendar using custom image
a) Download the software
Download and install iMapBuilder from its official website.
b) Using the Wizard
- Run the software , click the icon "Create" to create a new map.
Note: The Wizard automatically opens each time you open the iMapBuilder - Interactive Flash Map Software. Using the Wizard you can also open projects saved and created earlier. - Click the icon 'Import a custom map image' and select the calendar image you would like to insert.
- In the Map Options tab, set the calendar title, layout and size .

- Add events to your calendar . Click "Points and Lines" button under the "Map Options" tab and a pop-up window will be displayed, click the 'red pin' at the top and place on the date to represent an event. You can enter the name and description for the event. .

- Display image and description . Click "Mouse Over" or 'Move Click' tab, select the tooltips style, add description and image associated with the event. This way when user mouse hover/ mouse clicks the icon of the calendar, an infobox will be displayed with those text and image. Click 'Apply' to save the settings.
- Enrich your calendar . You can also add labels, lines, curves and logo to make your calendar more outstanding.

- Click "Preview" in the menu bar to see how it will look in the browser.
